Give me minimalism with simple, dramatic details any day of the week. The Scandinavian-inspired texture on Riverbank carves a striking visual into the front of this sweater; it’s quite captivating when you look up close. As soon as this one was off the needles I found myself daydreaming about how I’d wear it, and I still can’t get enough of the tactile combination of bouncy Targhee wool and plush cables. The versatile cropped length makes for easy layering as well, so you can dress it up or down according to your mood.

Riverbank is worked flat until the neckline shaping is complete, then joined and worked in the round from there. The front panel features a repetitive figure-eight cable against a trail of garter stitch. The texture is deceptively easy to work without constant focus on the pattern, but you’d never know it to look at the finished piece. The neckline and sleeves are worked last.
