Riverford mitts
Riverford mitts are colourful and comfortable - perfect for spring or autumn days that are still on the chilly side. The blue and white stripes are reminiscent of Breton striped clothing and the contrasting pumpkin coloured top is bright and cheerful.
The mitts are knit in the round and have a stocking stitch body with a garter stitch top and a thumb gusset.
If substituting yarn, or using leftover yarn (DK yarn to achieve tension/gauge), you should need at least 25 yards of the garter stitch colour and 50 yards each of the stocking stitch stripe colours.
Skills required:
Knitting in the round using either dpns or circular needles and magic loop (I have included a link in the pattern to a magic loop tutorial).
Increasing for thumb gusset.
Knit and purl stitches are both used in this pattern as garter stitch in the round uses both.
