Riverwalker
Riverwalker is an openwork mesh top that celebrates the feel of a breeze with limitless layer combinations. The striking line work consisting of long stitches (think treble crochet but taller) is inspired by the recent taking down of the 50+ year old Tappan Zee Bridge and putting up of the new bridge, in NY state’s charming and picturesque Hudson Valley region.
Riverwalker is worked flat from one bottom front/back edge (identical) up through the neckline back down to the bottom front/back on the other side, then folded and seamed up each side to the armpit area. The sleeveless version of this top was previously released years ago when this pattern was called Openwork Mesh Layer Top, which is made by simply stopping after this step.
This new completely renovated version now includes directions for three finishing additions that I’ve recently made to the top and absolutely adore:
1) neckline ribbing,
2) sleeves at 3/4 length, and
3) deep bottom ribbing.
As always, my designs include row-by row directions that have check boxes to easily track your progress.
This original pattern design in US crochet terms may not be distributed or sold as your own, but feel free to sell a finished top made from it.
