“Riviera” is a long, loose-fitting wraparound knit from the top down.
The back is shaped with short rows and knit in stockinette stitch to the end of the yoke. At this point the stitches are transferred to waste yarn. The stitches for the first half of the front are picked up and, as for the back, worked in stockinette to the end of the yoke; at this point the stitches are transferred to waste yarn.
The second half of the front is worked as for the first. The two fronts are embellished by a wide seed stitch border and an I-cord trim.
At this point the three pieces are joined, the armholes are shaped and the cardigan is knit to the desired length. At this point a wide seed stitch border is added to match the side borders. Thanks to the construction of the garment, the back is much longer than the front, adding an interesting touch to the cardigan.
Stitches along the armholes are picked up to knit the sleeves, evenly distributing the decreases. The sleeved also have a wide seed stitch border.

Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) to fit bust size 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm – 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) in.
Shown in size M with bust size 96 cm – 38 in and with 24 cm – 9 ½ in of positive ease.

Finished measurements:
Bust circumference: 96 (106, 120, 130, 143, 153) cm – 38 (42, 47 ¼, 51 ¼, 56 ¼, 60 ¼) in.
Length from underarm: 45 (45, 49, 49, 51, 51) cm – 17 ¾ (17 ¾, 19 ¼, 19 ¼, 20, 20) in.
Sleeves length: 40 (44, 44, 48, 48, 48) cm – 15 ¾ (17 ¼, 17 ¼, 18 ¾, 18 ¾, 18 ¾) in from underarm.

Gauge:
16 sts and 20 rows = 10 cm – 4 in in st st (after blocking).

Yarn and Needles:
BORGO DE’ PAZZI Amore 115 (Worsted weight yarn; 70% Merino, 25% Nylon, 2% Rayon, 2% Arcylic and 1% Polyester: 115 m – 126 yds / 50 gr – 1.76 oz. skein): 7 (8, 9, 10, 10, 11) skeins (766 850, 966, 1050, 1150, 1230 m – 838 930, 1057, 1149, 1258, 1346 yds).
Two circular needle size 5 mm – US 8 with an 80 cm – 32 in cable (one of them is only used to joint the fronts and the backs; if you have a more expert hand, you may only need one needle).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other:
1 stitch marker.
Scrap yarn.
Tapestry needle and scissors.
Pins and a tape measure for blocking.

“Riviera” è un cardigan lungo dalla linea ampia e avvolgente, lavorato dall’alto verso il basso.
Si incomincia dalla parte dietro, modellando la schiena con una serie di ferri accorciati e lavorando a maglia rasata fino alla fine dello sprone. Le maglie verranno lasciate in sospeso su un pezzo di filo di scarto.
Si continua riprendendo le maglie per il primo davanti, lavorando, come per il dietro, fino alla fine dello sprone e lasciando anche queste maglie in sospeso.
Si procederà in modo speculare per il secondo davanti. I due davanti sono decorati da un alto bordo a grana di riso e da un I-cord.
A questo punto si uniscono i tre pezzi, creando anche gli scalfi e si continua a lavorare fino a raggiungere la lunghezza desiderata. Si terminerà con un alto bordo a grana di riso che riprende il bordo laterale. Il dietro sarà molto più lungo del davanti proprio a causa della costruzione del lavoro: questo rende il cardigan molto interessante.
Si riprenderanno le maglie lungo gli scalfi e si lavoreranno le maniche, distribuendo le diminuzioni. Le maniche saranno completate da un alto bordo a grana di riso.

Taglie:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) vestono un giro seno di 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono alla taglia M indossata da una modella con un giro seno di 96 cm e con un agio di 24 cm.

Misure finite:
Circonferenza del seno: 96 (106, 120, 130, 143, 153) cm.
Lunghezza dallo scalfo: 45 (45, 49, 49, 51, 51) cm.
Lunghezza delle maniche: 40 (44, 44, 48, 48, 48) cm dallo scalfo.

Campione:
16 m x 20 f = 10 cm lavorati a maglia rasata (dopo il bloccaggio).

Filato e aghi:
BORGO DE’ PAZZI Amore 115 (70% merino, 25% nylon, 2% rayon, 2% acrilico e 1% poliestere: 115 m per gomitolo da 50 gr): 7 (8, 9, 10, 10, 11) gomitoli (766 850, 966, 1050, 1150, 1230 m).
Due aghi circolari numero 5 mm con cavo lungo 80 cm (uno è usato solo per unire i pezzi dei davanti e del dietro; se siete esperte potete anche farne a meno e utilizzare un unico ferro).
Se necessario modificare il numero dei ferri per ottenere il campione corretto.
Altro:
1 marcapunto.
Filo di scarto.
Ago da lana e forbici.
Spilli e metro da sarta per il bloccaggio.
