This hat variation of my “Road to Joy Shawl” incorporates my favorite stitches from my Road to Joy Shawl, BRICKS! They’re so great for showing off color changing yarns.

Choose to knit it with just 2 colors or throw in a third if you want your “Bricks” to be a different color. See the material list for the combos pictured.

Have fun combining solids with gradients and playing with colors. Pair it with my Road to Joy Cowl for a cozy set!

Materials
Bottom Left and Top Left Hat:
MC – 2 skeins Shepherd’s Wool Crazy
CC - 1 skein Shepherd’s Wool Sport Solid Granite

Bottom Right Hat:
MC - 1 skein Scheepjes Our Tribe 974 The Curio Crafts Room
CC 1 – 1 skein Scheepjes Our Tribe 880 Silver Birch

Top Right Hat:
MC – 1 skein Malabrigo Arroyo 046 Prussia Blue
CC (Brick Borders) 1 skein Shepherd’s Wool Sport Solid Raspberry
CC (Brick Interiors) 1 skein Shepherd’s Wool Crazy

This was enough yarn to knit the Cowl and my Road to Joy Hat.
To knit just the hat you will need approximately 150 yards of MC and 20 yards of CC in sport weight.

Size US 4 & 6 16” circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge and one 2 sizes smaller
Size US 6 dpn or long circular for magic loop
Darning Needle
Crochet hook for crochet cast on

Gauge
24 Sts. = 4” in garter stitch on larger needle

Finished Size
Small (Medium, Large)
To fit head size 18” (20”, 22”)
