This pattern is a cabled beanie, the cables overlap and change direction as you move up towards the crown of the cap. It is a quick and easy knit suitable for a knitter that wants a bit of a challenge, but still wants to enjoy the ride. I was inspired by the second time I ever drove a car, where my dad drove halfway up Mt. Hood, got out of the car, and told me to drive the rest of the way up and back home. The roads wound and coiled all the way up and down the mountain, and it was a driving lesson I will never forget. I will also never forget my mom clinging to the roof for a hand hold and gasping as we turned every corner. This is my first published pattern in honor of where I came from and immortalizing the things I have learned as I have wound my way through the world.

Gauge is not necessarily important.

You will need Super Chunky yarn for this pattern. Honestly, any type that you prefer.
