This pattern was originally released as the February 2013 pattern for Twisted’s 2013 Head to Toe Club ebook ($28).

This pattern can be worked in one of 4 different yarn weights and gauges - please refer to the following for yardage and sizing information.

Yarn – 120-150 yards sport, DK, worsted, or aran-weight yarn (depends on height). Shown in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Heavyweight, colorway Tanzanite (100% superwash merino; 350 yards/7 ounce hank); Madelinetosh Tosh DK, colorway Smokestack (100% superwash merino; 225 yards/4 ounce hank); Dream in Color Classy, colorway Gold Experience (100% superwash merino; 250 yards/4 ounce hank).

Gauge – Sport - 28 stitches = 4” stockinette stitch on larger needles. Approximately 42 sts = 4” in k2, p2 ribbing unstretched and blocked.
DK - 24 stitches = 4” in stockinette stitch on larger needles. Approximately 36 sts = 4” in k2, p2 ribbing unstretched and blocked.
Worsted - 22 stitches = 4” in stockinette stitch on larger needles. Approximately 33 sts = 4” in k2, p2 ribbing unstretched and blocked.
Aran - 20 stitches = 4” in stockinette stitch on larger needles. Approximately 30 sts = 4” in k2, p2 ribbing unstretched and blocked.

Needles – in two sizes (see list below) for your preferred method of working in the round (16” circular and double-pointed, just double-pointed, two circulars, or one long circular for magic loop).
Sport - US #4/3.5mm (or size to get gauge) and one size smaller for brim.
DK - US #5/3.75mm (or size to get gauge) and one size smaller for brim.
Worsted - US #6/4mm (or size to get gauge) and one size smaller for brim.
Aran - US #7/5mm (or size to get gauge) and one size smaller for brim.
Notions - Tapestry needle, 10 stitch markers including 1 distinctive marker.

Skill level - Advanced beginner (working in the round, cabling, maintaining ribbing).

Size/Finished measurements – Sport (DK, Worsted, Aran) = Toddler (Child, Adult Small, Adult Large), approximately 10 (12, 13, 14)“ circumference unstretched. To fit head circumference up to 18 (up to 20, 19-22, 21-23)”. Approximately 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5)” tall. Measured after blocking.
