The Road Trip Shawl is a great travel companion! Long rows of garter in speckled yarn offset simple but delightful lace sections that mimic migrating butterflies, rows of crop fields and wildflowers growing in open fields. Along the way you’ll knit in rhythmic garter stitch much like the endless miles of highway traveled and every now and then you’ll pause for little picot “pitstops”. There are relaxing stitches and stitches to keep your interest piqued. Knit in dk weight yarn this shawl is generously sized and will keep you cozy no matter how far you wander from home. Supplies Needed:
US Circular Needle Size 8
987 - 1,143 yards of dk weight yarn
Sample uses 5 skeins of dk weight yarn as follows:
2 skeins speckled color for garter sections
3 skeins of solid colors for lace and diagonal sections
Sample shown uses 2 Baah Sonoma (speckled) 234 yds each and 3 MadTosh dk (solids) 225 yds each
1 stitch marker

Finished Dimensions: Approximately 76” length x 36” top to bottom after wet blocking and pinning.

Gauge after blocking: 5 stitches and 6 rows in stockinette stitch
