Robe of Glory Original Crib Cover
This Robe of Glory design was created in 1979, inspired by the traditional Fair Isle knitting of the islands off the northern coasts of Scotland.
Two colours are knitted into each row, the colours alternately carried behind the work to create a soft double-layer fabric with excellent insulation qualities.
The KnitKit, for hand knit and standard gauge single bed knitting machines, includes all the yarn needed (8 colours - 100% shetland wool) for the blanket and gauge swatches, along with shade card, project bag and the pattern on CD.
The pattern includes colour stitch chart, as well as written instructions and links to useful resources.
The motif sequence tells a life story in symbols. The Water nurtures the Seed which grows to be a Flower. The Anchor is for hope, followed by the Tree of Life, a Star to guide you on your way, and a Crown of Glory - your reward in life.
