Robert the Raccoon
Hand knit toys have been my special gift to wee babes for over a decade. As soon as the expectant mother would make the announcement I would start the search for the perfect animal to fit the family. When I found out I was being blessed with a second nephew I wanted to make a raccoon to join the outdoorsy family, but I couldn’t find just the right pattern. After years of following the softee patterns from other designers, I decided to write my own!
With the exception of the head, this pattern is worked in the round. The limbs and tail are worked by picking up stitches on the body. This means less seaming! The snout and ears are attached during finishing to allow for perfect placement. I hope you enjoy creating this raccoon as much as I do!
