This cute Robin Chocolate Orange Cosy is crocheted in the round in one piece using mainly DK (UK) the shaping of the wings and tail uses HTr, Tr and DTr stitches)

I wanted a pattern that had wings and a tail but which didn’t need lots of sewing together (my pet hate) so I came up with this.

You will need 18-20 metres of dark brown DK yarn and 11-12 metres of red.

I have used a scrap of felt (sewn on) for the beak and 2x 4mm beads for the eyes but you could easily embroider the eyes instead.

You will also need to check your fit - I am a fairly tight crocheter, if you find your robin is a little big for your orange, just go down a hook size.

Every year I make a different cosy for friends and family - some of them now have quite a collection - it really makes me smile to see them dusted off and brought out every year!
