My son Vic (6 y) needed a knitting bag for school. (yes, he will learn to knit soon!). He asked me to make him a ‘Robin Hood bag’, and I decided to accept the challenge.

This bag makes a great knitting bag (large enough to carry long knitting needles and some skeins of wool), as well as a swimming bag, or sports bag, or ….

The bag is worked in separate pieces, and the zipper is sewn in by hand (no worries, it is really very easy) before assembling the bag.

The main part of the arrows is crocheted using the ‘tapestry crochet’ method (you only have to alternate 2 colours), and the other details (long line between lower and upper part and the colour accents in upper arrow parts) are worked afterwards.

I have added some vintage look ‘piping’ as well.

1 long strap provides great comfort.

Free pattern on my blog : available in English and in Dutch.

(tutorial for sewing in zipper and adding a lining will follow in a few days)
