Wandering around glacial cirques and moody mountain lakes, climbing steep granite rocks, roaming the plateaux and woods, exploring the gently-sloped hillsides teeming with life and wonderfully tasty mirabelle plums and myrtilles (blueberries in French)… This is what Les Vosges, a mountain range in the East of France, remind me of. The Vosges result from a geological uplift, a response to the opening of the Rhine Graben extensional basin.
The Rockscape shawl is inspired by these images from The Vosges region. With two colorways reminiscent of the iconic fruits of The Vosges, Rockscape lets you explore peaks, rocks and valleys by combining lace and mosaic with an uncommon shawl shape.

For best effect, use a yarn with reasonably good stitch definition and two colorways with enough contrast for the mosaic portions. Yarn weights ranging from fingering to DK would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend one solid colorway combined with either a solid, semi-solid, speckled, or gradient (single skein or gradient set) yarn.
