I went to a small school high up in the Colorado Rockies. The sun shines over 300 days a year, and I was always amazed at how we could experience a blizzard one day and a sunburn the next day. Rocky Mountain Sunburn’s two-color brioche cables remind me of the strong rays of sun that we saw daily in the mountains. It uses simple garter stitch, two-color brioche stitch, and strategic increases to create a half-pi shawl that is perfect for the crisp mountain air!

The pattern has written instructions for the garter stitch sections, has both charted and written instructions for the brioche sections, and includes a schematic to help guide the knitter.

Gauge
18.5 St / 29 Rows = 4” (10 cm) in Garter Stitch using US6 (4.0 mm) needles

10 St / 26 Rows = 4” (10 cm) in Brioche Ribbing using US4 (3.5 mm needles)
