There’s something almost breathless about standing on the shores of the coast, feeling the salty spray against your face and watching the swirling waters crash against the rocks. The Rocky Shores socks call on that feeling with a simple seed stitch and contrasting cuffs, heels, and toes, to bring the ocean with you wherever you go.

Sizes
There are four sizes in the pattern, 1 (18cm foot circumference), 2 (20cm foot circumference), 3 (22.5cm foot circumference), and 4 (25cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

Yarn and Yardage
Two different colours of fingering weight sock yarn are used for these socks. The total yardage is 230-300 yards, with C1 needing 40-70 yards, and C2 190-230 yards.

Notions
DPN’s or circulars (pattern can interpreted for both), darning needle, stitch markers, and sock blockers.

This pattern is good for beginning sock knitters who are familiar with cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction.

The seed stitch pattern is an easy-to-memorize 8 row repeat, and has both charted and written instructions.
