NOTES
This cowl is knit in the round into a tube that is twice the height of the fin- ished cowl. The first half of the cowl is the outer layer featuring the cross- hatch pattern, knit with the larger needle. The second half of the cowl is the lining, worked in stockinette stitch with the smaller needle. The bind off edge is grafted invisibly to the provisional cast on edge.
The crosshatch pattern is created with vertical and horizontal folds in a stockinette stitch fabric. The vertical folds are created with 2 slipped stitches every 2nd round. To create really sharp folds, hold the yarn tight behind the slipped stitches and while knitting the following stitch. The horizontal folds are created by knitting live stitches together with stitches 4 rounds below. Crosshatch pattern may be worked following chart or text.
