This versatile, asymmetric wrap features garter stitch, eyelets, and signal diagram inspired lace panels (“Get those shields down!”).

Because a knitter’s place is in the Resistance.

Notes:

Easily adapted, with a choice of finishing options, the medium Rogue Wrap is designed so that you can use as much as possible of those special skeins of yarn.

The larger size has 4 lace panels (as opposed to 3 for the medium). Suggestions for making it even larger are included.

NEW: A laceweight option has also been added.

Both written and charted instructions are provided for the lace panels. Also includes a handy table where you can tick off sections as you go, making it easier to keep track of where you are. Blocking tips are also included.

It’s knitted in 4ply/fingering weight and also in laceweight, but would lend itself to a variety of weights - just bear in mind that changing the yarn and/or needle size will change the amount of yarn you need.

In a shawl, gauge is often less important than getting a fabric with the feel and drape you like, but knitting this shawl to a different gauge than given may result in more yarn being required. (NB The gauge given above is after blocking - see below for further gauge information.)

Large: 72”/185cm (wingspan) x 34”/86cm (drop)
Laceweight: 68” (wingspan) x 31” (drop)

Materials:
Dyeninja Camel Silk Fingering (400m/437yds per 100g)
Medium: 1 skein, Large: 2 skeins

For laceweight version: 1 skein of Dyeninja Camel Silk Lace (800m/765yds per 100g)

NB:

1. The medium size will use almost all of the 400m/437m of yarn.
2. Dyeninja’s Camel Silk yarn is extremely drapey and blocks like a dream :-) If substituting another yarn, best results will be achieved with one that has similar characteristics.

Tools required:
~ Fingering sizes: 4.5mm/7US needles or size to get gauge.
~ Laceweight version: 3.75/5US needles or size to get gauge.
~ tapestry needle for weaving in ends
~ kit suitable for blocking lace, e.g. mats, wires, & t-pins

Gauge (fingering - on US7/4.5mm needle):
Before blocking: 10 sts & 18 rows per 2”/5cm inch over garter stitch
After blocking: 8 sts & 14 rows per 2”/5cm inch
over garter stitch

Gauge (laceweight - on US5/3.75mm needle):
Before blocking: 11 sts & 24 rows per 2”/5cm inch over garter stitch
After blocking: 8 sts & 18 rows per 2”/5cm inch
over garter stitch

Sample shown in grey is the Medium and is knitted in the Dyeninja Camel Silk Fingering in colourway “Scimitar” The other sample, in gold, is the laceweight and is knitted in the Dyeninja Camel Silk Lace in colourway “Souq”.
