Meaning ryegrass in Scottish Gaelic, Roille uses brioche stitches for a stunning brioche cowlette. Knit from the top down like a traditional triangular shawl, Roille is joined in the round just before the lace starts, turning it from shawl to cowlette. Somewhere between a small shawl and a cowl, this is a fun knit and makes a fantastic, easy to wear accessory!

Materials

• 366 m (400 yds) of The Fibre Fox Merino Singles (100% Merino Single Ply, 400 yds/100g) in Megara
• 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, 60 cm (24”) long
• 4 stitch markers
• Yarn needle for sewing in ends
• Blocking mat and pins

Gauge

19 stitches and 42 rows in 10 cm (4”) in brioche stitch worked flat and measured after blocking.

Differences in gauge will affect the amount of yarn used and may also change the size of the finished cowlette.
