Roll 20
Paging all nerds! If you like to roll for initiative (or know someone who does) this is a pattern for you !
This is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern, intermediate level (just because there are a lot of diagonals, but I do have a video for that!). Instructions include small graphs, large complete graph for KnitCompanion, written directions, and two helper videos--one showing how to do diagonal stitches, and the other showing a ‘cheat’ tapestry/color changing technique if you are so inclined.
My samples both used 4/worsted weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook, and measured 48 inches by 58 inches once the border was on. For the two color version, I used about 1450 yds of black, and 1450 yds of red. For the three color version, I used about 1500 yds of black, 1000 yds of violent, and 1000 yds of white--but that excess of yarn was due to the technique of carrying yarn across, which you may not choose to do.
If you make this in 3/DK weight, let me know! I did some test rows and it looks like it would be about 38 inches by 48 inches.
happy hooking!
