The fingering wt yarn is held double throughout or pattern may be completed with sport wt yarn.
I have knit 2 baby hats and 1 pair of booties with 1 sk of sock yarn.
The baby hat will fit up to about 4 years old without changes - simple to make larger or smaller by reducing the cast-on or changing the needle size. The hat is roll-brim, knit in the round and seamless. The booties are knit flat, seamed on the bottom and the back. There is an optional row of eyelets to thread a ribbon to help keep the booties on the baby!
