ERRATA jan15/14:
Round 9: With charcoal heather, knit 1, * insert right needle into next stitch 4 rounds below (in round 5), pull up a loop and place it on left needle, slip, slip, knit loop together with next stitch, knit 3; rep from * around, ending with a knit 2.

Work Rounds 17 and 25 the same as Round 9, with specified color.

Round 29: With neon pink,, * knit 2, insert right needle into next stitch 4 rounds below (in round 25), pull up a loop and place it on left needle, slip, slip, knit loop together with next stitch; rep from * around.


The designer’s imagery of rolling hills throughout this hat represents her viewpoint of life’s ups and downs. Using a clever stitch pattern to create a stranded look without holding 2 colorways during each row, the pompom-topped beanie makes for a fun and fast project to knit.

About the Designer:
Canadian designer Sachiko Burgin has degrees in Jewelry and Metalsmith Design, but prefers to create her designs in fiber. Sachiko works for her LYS, Romni Wools, and sells her designs on Ravelry and Patternfish. She is the sister of fellow designer Kiyomi Burgin.

Finished dimensions:
Completed hat measures approximately 20 inches (51 cm) circumference at bottom edge, and 8 inches (20.5 cm) tall.
