Rolling Rings Slippers
In the winter we need something easy, something warm, something that doesn’t fall off your foot as you move about the house. Meet this slipper-sock hybrid; a gender neutral, unfussy slipper sock knit in bulky yarn with a low, ribbed ankle, fitted foot, and elegant cable pattern.
I have given instructions for two sizes below. The larger size measures 11.5 inches long un-stretched and 4.5 inches wide. The smaller is 8.5 inches long with a width of 3.5 inches, un-stretched. The finished project is meant to be fitted, it is very stretchy and will be most comfortable this way. If you can try the slipper on its recipient as you knit and knit the foot longer, shorter, or wider as needed (same goes for the heel) that is ideal. But chances are the larger size will fit most men and the smaller size most women.
This pattern works up quickly with any bulky yarn. I used about 140 yards of a bulky/super bulky yarn for the sample pair in the photographs. It is a size large.
