The top will fit dolls such as Les Chéries® and Paola Reina® (13”), Hearts for Hearts® (14”) but is tight on Wellie Wishers® (14.5”) dolls because of their broader shoulders. You will need to make adjustments (less decreases at the shoulders, for example ; it fits nicely around the body, though).

The pattern gives instruction for a dress, a crop top, a skirt and a “knit-sew” dress (knitted top, sewn skirt).

The bodice is meant as an off the shoulders top (elastic thread can be used to gather it more and bring it higher on the shoulders). It is also cropped, or empire waist. The colorwork makes a honeycomb design that mimics a ruched or a smocked bodice.

It is a simple color work made with a mix of knitted and slipped stitches in two colors.

The same colorwork is used to create a contrasting border on the dess and skirt hem, above the ruffle.

Instructions are given to combine the crop top with a rectangular piece of woven fabric to create a pretty dress.
