This spring my daughter came to me asking if I would make her a “cool” summer top… It had to be black, have a halter neck and a lace edge at the bottom, and if possible also beads…

My daughter had a specific idea combining different designs and features, so we ended up sketching our own pattern. It was fun to do together and I am pleased with the result.

My daughter is also happy and it looks great on her (I am happy I don’t have to wear it!). We did add a piece of satin fabric to the inside after finishing, to make it less see-through.

I have made a quick description of the top, so if you want to make it too, you can have a go. Please note that it’s only one-size (12 years / 158 cm), but I think it’s pretty easy to adapt.
