Roofline Cowl is 100% inspired by a photo I took of a row of rusty sheds in the Faroe Islands this summer. The angular lines of entrelac echo the shed’s structure, blending geometric elegance with cozy practicality. Warm without being bulky, this double-layered split-neck cowl is perfect for casual, everyday use, or as a striking statement piece to spice up your wardrobe.
The construction of Roofline is both engaging and approachable. You’ll work the cowl in two halves, starting off working flat in garter stitch entrelac with an optional beaded cast-on. Thanks to my new technique, Lola’s Pick Up Line, Roofline uses stitch saver to avoid picking up stitches along the edge of the entrelac wedges. Once the Entrelac section is worked, your stitches transition to soothing garter stitch. You’ll then set the first half aside to make the second half, where the colors exchange to keep things exciting. The two halves are then grafted together at the neckline.
The kit includes a dreamy sport-weight blend of 50% Rambouillet wool, 25% silk, and 25% linen dyed exclusively for the N Club by Sea Change Fibers and square Miyuki beads in two colors inspired by the architecture of the shacks. Plus, members received supplies to make their own furoshiki-style yarn bag—perfect for carrying to the next fiber festival!
Small errata On Tier 1:
It should say Rows 8 - 21 (not 8 - 23) and Row 22 (not Row 24).
The stitch count and bead count are all correct, this was just a silly math formatting mistake!
