Whiteowlcrochetco. Root Beanie

Root is whiteowlcrochetco’s spin on the classic cable beanie, made with a double-brim! Four sizes are included in the pattern, ranging from baby - large adult.

This pattern is knit from the brim to the crown. Beginning with smaller needles and a crochet hook, you will provisionally cast on and knit a ribbed brim twice the length required. The cast-on will then be unzipped and the brim will be folded inward and joined with the last round to create what’s commonly known as a ‘double brim’, or a brim with two layers. From here, you will switch to the larger of the two sets of needles, proceeding into the cable-stitch pattern. Finally, you will decrease to form the crown, then use your tail to close and finish. The final beanie has 4-6” of negative ease due to the natural cinching of the ribbed brim.
