sl = slip 
CO = Cast-on 
BO = Bind off Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off Knitty tutorial included in the pattern
SSK = Slip, slip, knit 
K2tog = Knit 2 st together

If in doubt with the gauge, use the one that is closest to the stitch count.
