Ropery is a pullover with a bit of a difference! Using a combination of bias knitting, short rows and quick and easy cast-ons, a deep cowl front is created. This pattern is worked entirely in stockinette and reverse stockinette, to focus attention on the striking and unusual silhouette, and is much easier to execute than you may expect. Part of the Mile End mini-collection of East London inspired designs.

Designed in part to best represent Alice Yu’s new Shadow Wraps short row technique this method is used to correct the bias knit of the front, while generating simple curves at the hem and neck. The back and sleeves are knitted in the traditional manner, and the back features delicate waist shaping that carries through to the front.
