Rory Sweater - digital knitting pattern (PDF)

The Rory Sweater is a cabled and textured oversized sweater with a double folded crew neck. It is knit flat from the bottom up in four separate panels (front, back & two sleeves) which are seamed together using an invisible seam, before adding a double folded collar. Shaping at the shoulders makes the sweater a little less bulky around the armpits while maintaining an oversized drop-shoulder fit.

You will need to read knitting charts when using this pattern. More techniques included are long tail cast on (or Italian cast on if preferred), knit, purl, cable, left purl cross, right purl cross, right cross, picking up stitches around the neckline, increases, cast off, invisible seam. You need to be either an advanced or confident intermediate knitter motivated to learn new techniques to knit this sweater.

Gauge (after blocking): 10 x 10cm/4” x 4” = 20sts x 28 rows in moss stitch.
Do not forget making a gauge swatch and blocking it before knitting this sweater - otherwise you risk making the wrong size for you.

Sizing: 5 sizes are included in the pattern for now. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL fit measurements 75-85 (86-95) 96-105 (106-115) 116-125cm/30”-33” (33,5”-37”) 37,5”-41” (41,5”-45”) 45,5”-49”. Do determine your size, measure the circumference of your chest or the widest part of your upper body.

The sweater is meant to be very oversized with a positive ease of 25-35cm/10”-14”. If you are in between sizes, I recommend choosing the smaller size because of this.

Circumference of the finished sweater: 112 (120) 128 (138) 146cm/44” (47”) 50” (54”) 57,5”
Length of the finished sweater: 56 (58) 58 (61) 62cm/22” (23”) 23” (23”) 24,5”
