I love the look of chunky oversized crochet hats, especially on cold days in late fall and winter. The cozy double thickness of the crochet stitch, along with the bulkier weight yarn provides an extra layer of insulation. Because of the larger stitches, this beanie works up quite quickly.
This hat is worked using 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together. A super bulky weight yarn could be substituted, as long as the gauge is the same.
Two sizes, adult and child are included in the pattern. Model shown is wearing child size and has 19” head.
