Two patterns from an old book Gotländska stickmöster became my inspiration for these mittens: the Swedish “murgröna”, which means ivy, on the cuff, and Gotland roses on the hand.

The chart is in size M, average women’s size. You may use all types of wool producing gauge 24 sts in 10 cm in stockinette on 3 mm needles.

This pattern uses an old fashioned thumb-knitting without increases for the gussset, which makes the mittens knit up real fast!
