Some time ago I was searching the Ravelry patterns for a rose beret. It should have been a special kind: roses and leaves in rounds around a beret. As I couldn’t find anything like this I had to make my own pattern.
And I love all about it!
It is knit in three colours, has a corrugated ribbing, bands of roses and their leaves around the body section and at the top is a beautiful single rose.
And there are at most two colours in one row.
I knit it three times and it’s one of my easier patterns (the rose pattern is easy to remember).

You can change the colour of the roses to your favorite rose colour.
Also black roses would look great. If you choose white roses, then you could change the background to dark green and use a lighter green for the leaves. You could also use a black background but then I would recommend to use a lighter green.

The beret come in two sizes 52 - 54 cm head circumreference (smaller or less slouchy version), 54 - 57 cm (bigger or more slouchy version)

Die Rosenbaretmütze ist für den Sommer Design Along 2012 entstanden, weil ich auch vergeblich nach einer Rosenbaretmütze gesucht habe, die genau meinen Vorstellungen entsprochen hat.
Es gibt sie in zwei Grössen (52 - 54 cm, die weniger saloppere Version oder 54 - 57 cm oder saloppere Version für kleinere Köpfe)
Auf dem Bild ist die saloppere Variante auf einem kleineren Kopf zu sehen.
Ich habe das Muster inzwischen dreimal gestrickt und ich liebe es! Es ist relativ einfach zu stricken, wenn man mit zwei Farben pro Runde zurechtkommt. Das Rosenmuster ist recht eingängig. Es hat auch noch beim dritten mal Spass gemacht, die Mütze zu stricken…
