I was very lucky to be gifted a couple of hanks of hand dyed merino - dyed especially with assigned pooling projects in mind by the lovely team from Dreamfire artisan yarns.

As I was caking the yarn I had a vision of beautiful Rose buds of the Damask Rose. For centuries, the Damask rose (Rosa Damascena) has symbolized beauty and love and I hope making this will bring you joy.

Assigned pooling is such a fun Knitting technique where the cleverly dyed yarn plays the main role. Basically you take advantage of a change in colour within a hank of variegated yarn, use a very textured stitch for that accent colour and boom!
Special thanks are going to Dawn Barker , the creative force behind this technique.

I believe you can make this your own, deciding how often the buds appear!

This shawl or scarf has a very easy construction and after the setup and practicing making the buds, it could become a very easy project, no need to check the pattern every row.

One size only but could be made bigger or smaller
