Rose Purse
This Rose Purse is inspired by the motifs, layout, and stylings of a 14th century relic purse from Sion, Switzerland. Present-day important items, such as jewelry or craft notions, are a lovely use for these relic purses.
The rose element and the idea of banded motifs come from the Swiss example. The motif of the wider band is designed to look like a lattice on which the roses bloom. This style of tassels and drawstrings is also common in these Swiss relic purses. The purse has a fabric lining so that objects do not catch on yarn floats inside.
Although this pattern is worked in lace weight yarn, the design motifs and methods can easily be used to knit projects with other weights of yarn in a variety of sizes and proportions.
