I love to wander away to the meadow so sweet, Where down at my feet, The harebell blooms modest and tender. - Dora Read Goodale

Roseberry Topping is a vintage-inspired modern cardigan with just a few feminine touches - featuring gentle waist shaping (optional), twisted ribbing, a slightly gathered sleeve cap and playful colours this cardigan will be a beautiful, wearable accent for your favourite dress…or the perfect ‘mummy and me’.

The pattern includes a wide range of sizes to fit from 0-6 months up to 56in (142cm) adult bust, designed to be worn with 0-2in (0-5cm) negative ease.

Inspired by the Harebell lace featured in the bodice, the pattern’s namesake, Roseberry Topping, is one of Yorkshire’s native bluebell woods. Yorkshire through and through - even the wools are designed and spun in Yorkshire by baa ram ewe and West Yorkshire Spinners.

This seamless cardigan is worked from the bottom up. The body is worked flat. After the armhole split, front and back sections are worked separately. Short-row shaping creates the scooped Harebell lace bodice, featuring applied i-cord, with a three-needle bind off used to finish shoulders. Sleeve stitches are then picked up around the armhole, set-in sleeve cap shaping worked with slight gathers built in, and then sleeves knit down in the round, leaving just a few ends to weave in.

Pattern includes charted and written instructions for the Harebell lace.
