The Rosehill Cottage Collection is inspired by the quaint country cottage of Iris Simpkins in the Holiday. It comprises of a shawl, cowl, hat and wrist warmers, which all feature delicate lace and soothing stocking stitch.

This pattern is for the Rosehill Cottage Cowl, which is generously long and squishy, perfect for country walks in winter.

This cowl is knit in the round with no seaming. It is a soothingly simple knit with easy to remember lace rounds and stocking stitch. It is designed to be knit in a fade of 24 minis but will look stunning in any palette.

The sample is knit in Elderflower Stitches 2021 Yarn Advent sock minis held with a stand of Elderflower Stitches Bare Taffeta.

The cowl requires 600m/660y of both sock and lace weight yarn, or 600m/660y of DK weight yarn.

This is approximately 6g of sock yarn or 12g of DK yarn for each section.

This pattern uses 4.5mm circular needles, or suitable size needles for the gauge

To help keep track of your lace stitches, I recommend using six stitch markers. You will also need a tapestry needle to weave in your ends.

The finished cowl measures approximately 50cm around and 60cm long once blocked. If you need to adjust the circumference, I recommend changing needle size rather than stitch count as the lace is an 18-stitch repeat.
