The Rosehill Cottage Collection is inspired by the quaint country cottage of Iris Simpkins in the Holiday. It comprises of a shawl, cowl, hat and wrist warmers, which all feature delicate lace and soothing stocking stitch.

This pattern is for the Rosehill Cottage Shawl, which is generously long and squishy, perfect for country walks in winter.

This shawl is knit flat. It is a soothingly simple knit with easy to remember lace rows, stocking stitch and garter stitch. It is designed to be knit in a fade of 24 minis but will look stunning in any palette.

The sample is knit in Elderflower Stitches 2021 Yarn Advent sock minis held with a stand of Elderflower Stitches Bare Taffeta.

The cowl requires 1600m/1750y of both sock and lace weight yarn, or 1600m/1750yof DK weight yarn.

This is approximately 15g of sock yarn or 30g of DK yarn for each section. To adjust for DK weight, you could have the garter section knit in a contrasting yarn, or reduce the width by 1 lace repeat.
