There is a big bush of rosemary in my little garden. In early spring it is a pure delight to see its little flowers blooming, mauve over the grey green leaves. I designed this cloche in the middle of winter, under a cold weather. Dreaming about the reappearance of spring I have chosen a pattern and colours that remind me my beloved rosemary flowers.

This hat is worked in the round from brim to top, in stranding knitting. It is a very easy and quick knit. It is designed as a cloche with a folded brim. The design is simple and may be easily customised. You may prefer to wear it slouchier, with a brim fold or unfold (as our model on photo 2). You may wish to choice very contrasting colours for fun and energy or neutral ones for calm and softness. You have many options to adapt Rosemary Flower to your taste.

Sizes
Rosemary Flower is offered in two sizes (S/M and L/XL) that may fit all head circumferences from 54 cm (21 in) to 60 cm (24 in). It has been designed to have about 6-8 cm (2-3 in) of negative ease (see photo 1). A bigger size will provide a slouchier fit as it is shown on the same model wearing size L/XL with an unfold brim (photo 2).

Yarn
Drops Nepal 65% wool, 35% alpaca, 50 g (1.76 oz), 75 m (82 yds). Main colour (MC): grey purple (4311); Contrasting color (CC): light grey green (7120); 1 skein each.

Needles
4 mm (US 6) circular needle for brim; 5 mm (US 8) circular needle for body; 5 mm (US 8) set of 5 double pointed needles for crown. It is recommended to adapt needle size to obtain correct gauge.

18 sts and 22 rnds: 10 cm x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in) with 5 mm (US 8) needles through pattern, after blocking.
