Project Description: Sweet and elegant, Rosemary’s fingerless mittens feature picot hems and Vikkel braids on the cuffs, hand and thumb. Delicate leafy lace adorns the back of the hand. A lovely way to warm your hands!

Size and Finished Measurements: As written, these instructions produce an average sized women’s mitten with
a 2” (5 cm) cuff, a 1” (2.5 cm) thumb to fit a palm circumference of 7.5 – 8.5”. Width and length can be modified using a larger needle size or by adding/reducing stitches in units of 2 stitches and reducing or adding rounds as desired.

Materials and Equipment:
Suggested Yarns: Rylie by Hikoo, 50% Baby Alpaca, 25% Mulberry Silk, 25% Linen, sport weight, 274 yds, 100 g, in 2 colors: 003 Natural and 091 Sandbar or Baby Alpaca by Blue Sky Fibers, 100% Baby Alpaca, sport weight, 110 yds, 50 g, in 2 colors: 500 Natural white (2 skeins) and Pink or 507 Natural Light Grey (1 skein). Needles: US size 2 (2.75 mm) dpns, or circulars, if using the magic loop method or 2 circulars; 4 stitch markers, darning needle.

Gauge: 29 sts in stockinette stitch with US size 2 (2.75mm) needles, blocked = 4” / 10 cm
