The oversized fit of Rosemont makes it an everyday favorite. The compound raglan mimics some of the sleeve cap shaping found with a set-in sleeve construction, which contributes to a comfortable fit. Comfort is also found in using a squishy worsted weight yarn like Quince & Co. Lark.

The pictured sweater from this book is knitted seamless from the top down. If you prefer seamed knits, a second set of instructions is included to knit the cardigan in pieces. In both versions, the bands are picked up and knitted last.

If you are in-between sizes, I suggest sizing down for an open cardigan like this one. When choosing your size it is always a good idea to check your actual body measurements against all the measurements given in the pattern schematic.

Regarding individual pattern:

The original version of Rosemont was released as an individual pattern. Some knitters found the original instructions confusing as there was a lot to keep track of while working from the top down - the dreaded AT THE SAME TIME instruction! The pattern was rewritten for Home & Away, and the individual pattern has been updated to include these new clearer instructions for the top down seamless version.
