Rosenlund top
The Rosenlund top is knitted seamlessly from the top down with honeycomb cables, lace patterns and textural moss stitch. The back and front are knitted flat down to the armholes. Then the pieces are joined and the body is knitted in the round. Stitches are picked up from the neck edge and worked in the round. Lastly, stitches for the sleeve edgings are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round. All techniques are explained in the pattern. The cable and lace patterns are both charted and written out stitch by stitch.
The Rosenlund top can be worn either as a sleeveless summer top or a vest. For a summer version I would recommend a cotton, viscose or linen blend. For a warmer, wintery version choose yarn with high wool content.
The Rosenlund top was named after the 18th century vicarage and garden in my childhood hometown Pietarsaari, Finland. The gardens, especially the rose garden, are one of my favorite places in the world and we actually got married in the orangery.
