This shawl is knitted from top down so, it requires crochet cast-on. Gauge is not important in this pattern. Please, notice that this pattern uses charts. The pattern (13 pages) includes charts, photos and written instructions which will help you to, for example, do the crochet cast-on, knit the nupps, read the charts and block the shawl,

Shawl size (in pictures): about 250 (longest edge)x130 (from longest edge to the tip) cm, the pattern includes instructions on how to modify the shawl size.
