The Rosette Beret is a free and easy pattern, knitted bottom up in the round.

The beret can be made using scraps and yarn oddments. It can also be made using Aran or worsted weight yarn. Reducing the needle size with a heavier yarn results in a firmer and denser fabric. The needle size given is just a guide. It would be quite easy to modify the size for a child’s head by reducing the number of cast on stitches and even knit it flat and sew together for a beginner perhaps.

You’ll also need a button to cover for the crown to top it off.

Enjoy.
