ROSITA

You are warmly welcome to knit Rosita Socks with me. This pattern was first published on November 2023 in a Finnish knitting bookazine called Lempparisukat. Now that the year has passed since the bookazine publishing, I can offer the pattern also as an English version.

By the way, Lempparisukat is a Finnish word that means The Favourite Socks, and Rosita’s truly are one of my own favourite from my sock designs. <3

Rosita Socks:

The 18-pages long knitting pattern (PDF) includes good charts, written instructions and photos. The pattern includes two different version of the design - The version with the duplicate stitch roses and the easier version knitted with only 2 colors.

Designer: Heini Perälä - Heinikki design, Finland
Foot size: EU 38
Upper calf circumference: Suits best for about 34–37 cm calf.
Sock measurements: Leg length (including the cuff and heel) 41 cm, foot length 24 cm.
Needles: 5 double-pointed needles: 2,5 mm / US 1,5 for stranded knit, 2 mm / US 0 for the cuff. You also need a darning needle for duplicating stitches and embroidering the teeth.
Yarn: 400 m / 100 g, for example Hjertegarn Armonia
+ a little bit thinner cotton crochet yarn for embroidering the teeth.
Colors: Main color 95 g, Contrasting color 45 g
+ 2 different colors for duplicate stitch roses, 5 grams each.
Gauge: 33 stitches and 36 rows in stranded knitting = 10 x 10 cm
