VIKINGS!

The Roskilde Headband came into being because my friend Amanda liked my Roskilde Toorie design, but thought she’d rather wear a headband, not a hat, which would be too hot for her head! So, here we are - a headband in lighter weight yarn.

It’s knitted in the round, starting with a rib border, then the boats (from a chart), and ending with a rib border. I give instructions for making the headband narrower or wider than 50cm / 19”, but it is quite deep, 13cm / 5” so will still keep most of your head warm.

I used most of one ball of background colour, and less than half a ball for the contrast (the boats). I made two samples - one using Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift in storm, the other in Titanic. Both have boats in eggshell.
