A sleekly unadorned raglan tunic is perfect for winter. Knit in Shelter with simple double-rib edges and a turtleneck, Roslyn will add warmth and minimalist style to your wardrobe. Waist shaping keeps the silhouette trim and circular construction means you’ll be wearing it in no time.

Construction

The body and sleeves are worked circularly and joined at the underarms, then the yoke is worked in the round to the beginning of the neck shaping. The yoke is worked back and forth while the neck is shaped. The collar is worked circularly from the top down, then the live collar stitches are joined to the neck edge of the body using a crocheted chain-stitch technique.

Yardage

Approximately 940 (1055, 1195, 1305, 1460, 1575) yards of worsted weight wool yarn

Yarn

7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 140 yards/50g)
Photographed in color Soot

Gauge

18 stitches & 28 rounds = 4” in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s), after blocking

Note: Correct length of the one-piece yoke is dependent upon achieving the stated round gauge.

Needles

Size A (for Main Fabric)
One each 24” and 32” circular needles and one set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 5 mm (US 8)

Size B (for Ribbing)
One each 16” and 32” circular needles and one set of DPNs* two sizes smaller than Size A
Suggested Size: 4 mm (US 6)

Size C (optional; for Tubular Cast On only)
One each 16” and 32” circular needles and one set of DPNs* one size smaller than Size B
Suggested Size: 3¾ mm (US 5)

32” circular needle can be used instead of DPNs if using the Magic Loop method for working small circumferences in the round (i.e., Sleeves).

Note: If you have adjusted the needle size to obtain the correct gauge, it may or may not be necessary to make a matching adjustment to the needle size used for Tubular Cast On due to variance in individual work. You may wish to test your chosen cast-on method on your swatch.
