Þröstur - zipped sweater

Þröstur is a zipped down sweater for young men of all ages. Perfect for everyday use and for camping.
The pattern is written in two ways; to knit the sweater the old Icelandic wool sweater style (bottom up) and to knit the sweater top down.

Gauge
4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm) = 18 sts and 24 rounds in stockinette stitch on needles US 8 (5 mm).
It is important to have the right gauge to determine the given size. Adjust needle size to match gauge.

Directions
The sweater is knitted in the round with stockinette stitch and stranded knitting on the yoke, at the bottom of the body and sleeves.
The ribbing at the neckelining and at the bottom of the body is knitted flat; k1 st, p 1 st repeat and the ribbing at the bottom of the sleeves is knitted in the round.
The body and the sleeves are knitted in the round with stockinette stitch and stranded knitting. Two purled sts are mid front.
A sewing machine is used to sew into the purl lines before cutting the sweater open.
A zipper is sewn under the front edge.

Þröstur er virkilega falleg rennd ullarpeysa sem hentar fyrir unga menn á öllum aldri bæði hversdags og í útileguna.
Uppskriftinni fylgja leiðbeiningar til að prjóna peysuna á tvo vegu; önnur leiðin er hin klassíska leið til að prjóna lopapeysu þ.e. að byrja neðst og prjóna upp en hin leiðin er að byrja uppi og prjóna niður.

Nauðsynlegt er að hafa rétta prjónfestu til þess að flíkin nái uppgefinni stærð. Sannreynið prjónfestu og skiptið um stærð prjóna ef þörf er á.

Aðferðir

Stroffið neðan á bol og á hálsmáli er prjónað; 1 L sl, 1 L br til skiptis, fram og til baka en neðan á ermum er það prjónað í hring. Fyrir utan það er peysan prjónuð í hring, með sléttu prjóni og tvíbandaprjóni. Neðan á bol og ermum er munsturbekkur og þar fyrir ofan er peysan einlit upp að höndum. Munstur á axlastykki er prjónað með tvíbandaprjóni.
Saumað er með saumavél í brugðnu lykkjurnar áður en klippt er upp á milli þeirra til að opna peysuna.
Að lokum er rennilás saumaður í peysuna að framan.
