Rosy
Because Rosy is a sideways adaptation of ChemKnits’ GENEie rather than a truly original pattern, I didn’t feel right turning it into a PDF…although it should be an option for someone with smallish quantities of a solid colored yarn who wants to make a DNA-themed headband and isn’t afraid of a bit of two-sided cabling.
The pattern is worked flat in one long strip from a provisional cast-on edge, and the two ends are joined using kitchener stitch. The “ribbed” border is actually just garter stitch, turned on its side, as in the edging of a shawl. The number of repeats may vary depending on your gauge and head size, but must be worked in full (i.e. no half-repeats) in order for the ends to join properly.
Many thanks to ChemKnits for the original hat pattern, which may become my go-to beanie one day!
