This shawlette is knit sideways, and the narrow, elongated triangular body is worked simultaneously with the lace border. There are 13 large lace scallops on the finished border, and the shawlette works up to be about six and a half feet in length and about a foot wide at its widest. If you use the Wool-Ease yarn, which is a wool/acrylic blend, it is super easy to care for as it retains its shape nicely, is machine washable, and barely needs a touch of blocking to regain its shape.
