Top-down beanie is a basic beanie with a twist: knitting the beanie top-down and increasing instead of decreasing makes a beautiful and very professional finish on the crown. Result is a lovely beanie emanating Scandinavian minimalism.

This beanie can be knitted with cotton or for example cotton-merino to be used during the Summer months or with wool, alpaca or any of your favourite warm fibre for use during the colder months.

Once you master the simple increasing pattern you can modify the size to fit adults as well.

The pattern includes instructions for everything you need: casting on and increases, a list of required tools and pictures to help you on the way. We start by casting on on the crown and start working the increases straight away. Until the increases are done, the rest is easy-breezy.
